Dance America Competition

We went to our second competition this weekend! It wasn't my favorite competition by far!! I've kinda become a picky competition person. I'm pretty sure I won't ever go to this one again! BUT... I love those girls. Besides that I personally think that they have amazing talent... they make me laugh. I LOVE being around them! Anyhow... Our 70's show scored a High Gold! And we beat all but one of our scores from the last competition!! GO VERNAL STARS.

Happy 30th Birthday Sambo!!

SAMMY'S 30!!! Just thought I'd tell Sam Happy Birthday! I couldn't find the picture of Sam crying at my 8th birthday party so I went with a Halloween picture from about 24 years ago! Candace & I were hobos, Sam was a cowboy of course, and yes... that's Perry as a girl! love ya cuz :) (Trent wrapped the gift. If he had his way, that's how he'd wrap at Christmas too!)

BTW... I'm having problems getting the other rock band video's to upload! Hopefully I'll have them up at the end of the day. Sorry Jason & Ronnie... I'm working on it!

Rock STARS!!!

Mar & West were invited to a Rock Star Birthday party! West was a punk rocker... he thought he looked like someone from Blink 182 without the tatts. Mar was Lady Sovereign. Sammy was Gwen Stefanie. They played Guitar Hero, sang karaoke, & partied like rock stars!!!

NO DEAL!!!!

So Amy and I camped out for the castings of Deal or No Deal! HOLY COW! It was cold, uncomfortable, and we were about 300 people back! We had a ton of fun tho! The guy sitting next to us didn't bring a blanket or anything and he was shivering so hard his chair was shaking. We felt really bad for him.
So... to audition for the show they send you in groups of 10 and give you 20 sec. to tell them about yourself! They tell you to tell them something that will help them remember you by the end of the day... um... after getting a grand total of 2 hr. 45 min. of sleep you don't remember much of anything. Plus we were starving! All in all it was fun to hang out with a bunch of strangers (you'd be surprised what some of them were doing to get on) but I'm not sure if I'd do it again. Their were over 10,000 people there. I'm glad we ended up camping out!

That's just one of the corners full of people. The line actually wrapped around to the left and then went out the door, zig zagged through the parking lot, and then around the building! If we hadn't spent the night we would have been there till probably late that night! As it turns out... we got out of there by 10:00 a.m.

HOPPY BURTDAY WESTON!!!

That is to be said in true "Gus, Gus" fashion HOPPY BURTDAY WEST!

Weston turned 10 years old today... wasn't long ago that my sarcastic, know it all (but in a nice way) boy was a non-stop talking, asking the weirdest questions, had a hard time saying his "S"'s bubby! He started speaking... and I mean speaking before he turned 1 and never stopped! I just had an epiphany!! He started talking and walking before he turned one... Maybe that's why the kids still has a hard time with his lisp and is the most accident prone kid I know!!??? Maybe??

AWWW SHUCKS!! He was soooo stinking cute! And still is for that matter! Anyway... We love you!!

Top 10 Movies... That I would recommend!

August Rush

I just finished watching August Rush. It was such a good show! I loved the story line & the music. OH MY GOODNESS!! That boy is a musical genius! ...I am trying to decide though... is "Hollywood's" version of Irish musicians a myth or not? Would we... OK I... think that they were quite as good looking without the accent? (My vote is no) WHAT'S THE DEAL??? The best movies I've seen in a long time include gorgeous Irish musicians who are what every girl dreams of! (good looks & talent, who know exactly how to pull your heart strings) It's got to be Hollywood! But I'm not going to complain :) Anyway... I went on another emotional roller coaster through the movie. Now I'm going to go see what Becoming Jane does to me!


OK... (6 hours later) So I just finished Becoming Jane. I was loving it & would have said to watch it, BUT the ending pretty much just ticked me off! I'm SOOO MAD! I hated the way it ended... I just bawled :'(

Electric Chair

Most of you know what a smart alack Weston can be... Well the other day at the dance competition (held all day at the Energy Solutions Arena) the boys had to sit through about 6 hours of dancing. (I personally think that sounds like a great day!) They were starving and bored. I guess Weston got tired of it!! Trent said that he stuck his hands through the cup holders, looked at him and said...

"Hey Dad! It's an electric chair! FLIP THE SWITCH!"
Trent then told Weston he was a cornball and Weston said...
"Corn Nut? ...I want some corn nuts!"

Trent thinks it's pretty darn funny and has been telling everyone at work. I have to admit... it was a good one!

Bugs looking for a landing strip

We went on a trip to the mall before the Jazz game. I forgot that Jess & I had found these glasses. I personally think that they look like Fern Oberhansly/Labrum's. I know I've seen her in these!

BTW... my pic of the Jazz Bear has finally been posted below!!! YAY ME!! I love that bear!

Xtreme Danzz Competition

We went to the Xtreme Danzz Competition this weekend and had the best time! My girls did sooo well in all of their dances and I expect them to get even better! Our 70's show was a HUGE hit! Everyone who saw it complimented us on all the energy & fun! We placed 1st in three of our dances, 3rd in two, & 4th in another. One of my solo dancers "Queened" twice, the other three took 1st, 2nd & 3rd. I couldn't be more proud.... GO VERNAL STARS!!! My dancer that queened scored overall high points on her solo's (there were around 150 solo's. they chose the high scores in Beg. Int. & Adv.) She was invited to perform for everyone before the 2nd awards ceremony! She did awesome even with her hurt back!
